B.A. in Creative Writing
The B.A. major in Creative Writing requires a minimum of 40 semester hours, 12 of which must be at or above the 300 level.

| Three creative writing courses at the 200 level. THEA 235 can count for one of these. One of these courses must be a multi-genre course, such as ENGL 220, ENGL 242, ENGL 243, or ENGL 245. | 9.0 | |

| Three literature in context electives. Two of these electives must be from the department’s literature offerings. One elective can be HIST 186 or a course from any of the Narrative, Meaning, and Media Center's disciplines that places literature in a cultural or historical context. | 9.0 | |
