Academic Rules and Procedures

In this section students will find important details about academic work at Principia College. Academic rules, grading policies, and other information are outlined and explained in these pages.

Fundamental to a Principia College education is the knowledge that “Principia recognizes that each individual as a child of God reflects the intelligence and strength of our Maker, and that all have equal opportunity and equal ability in the sight of God.”  (Purpose and Policies, Policy 3)

In alignment with Policy 3, students are expected to take full responsibility for their education. While College faculty and staff provide academic advice and assistance, all students are accountable for knowing and abiding by all academic rules and procedures. Students are responsible for knowing and completing All-College degree requirements, all requirements within their specific degree program(s), and for taking courses in the proper sequence to ensure timely progress. Adherence to all College deadlines is expected. Students are responsible for seeking help and guidance from all resources available to them, to be proactive and remain informed about academic dates and deadlines, and to understand the academic rules and procedures in this section.
