Career Planning Services
During the first year, each student has the opportunity to work closely with an Academic and Career Advisor. These professionally trained advisors help students explore possible majors, start to connect skills and interests to potential career ideas, and develop an educational and career plan which also includes extra curricular activities. The ACA Office services include: tools for self-assessment and major/career exploration; academic/career planning; assistance with internships and Research Experiences for Undergraduates; résumé/cover letter writing; online portfolios; interview preparation; social media; and career/graduate school exploration and preparation.
Career Courses offered by ACA also support this preparation and include: CAR 101 You. Your Major. Your Career, CAR 201 Navigating Internships, CAR 091 Career Conference, and CAR 301 Investigating Career Options.
