Career Planning Services

Each incoming student works closely with a new-student advisor in the Academic and Career Advising (ACA) department. These professionally trained advisors help students select courses, explore possible majors, start to connect skills and interests to potential career ideas, and develop an educational plan which includes extra curricular activities.  ACA services include tools for self-assessment and major/career exploration; academic planning; assistance with externships, internships, and Research Experiences for Undergraduates; resumé/cover letter writing, interview preparation, social media, and career/graduate school exploration and preparation.

Career Courses offered by ACA also support this preparation and include: CAR 101 You. Your Major. Your Career, CAR 091 Career Conference, and CAR 301 Investigating Career Options.
