Center for the Arts

Explore the creative landscape

Exploring the creative landscape — be it on canvas, a stage, through a melody, or within one’s own artistic spirit — our students develop, practice, perform, and share their talent and creative spark with the world.

Our students are ...

Creative and passionate
Observant and expressive
Lively and energetic
Open to new experiences
Intuitive and joyful

What you can study:

  • Music
  • Music Studies
  • Performing Arts
  • Visual Arts
  • Stand-alone minors including Art History, Dance, and Theatre.

What you’ll do: Create things that have never existed. Find new ways to express the
complexity of the human experience. Revel in the beauty and poignancy of movement, language, music, and the visual world. Expand the boundaries of self- and group- expression.

Where you’ll learn:

You’ll spend your days with inspiring faculty — accomplished artists in their own right
— in amazing creative, practice, performance, and exhibition spaces like the new Voney
Art Building, Radford Studio, and McVay Center for the Performing Arts.

How you’ll contribute:

Our students become artists and makers, dancers, actors, musicians and composers, painters, potters, performers, and producers. They make the world a better place by creating beauty and meaning, posing foundational questions about the nature of human creativity, and exploring the creative landscape across disciplines and art forms. As graduates, they use their creative gifts both within and outside of the arts. Their contributions are as diverse and unique as they are.
